A 53-year-old woman was killed while her two female relatives were wounded when a gunman broke into their house and shot them while they were asleep in Mampang at dawn yesterday.

Two other men were wounded in two separate gun attacks inside San Roque Cemetery and Talon-Talon last Thursday night.

The fatality was identified as Consolacion Alvarez, single. Wounded were Fe Francisco y Rojas, 58, widow and Rosalie Francisco y Rojas, 19.

A police report disclosed that the three women were sleeping inside the house around 3 a.m. when an unidentified man knocked the door.

When no one opened the door, the gunman forcibly entered the house and shot them several times.

Alvarez sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot.

Fe and Rosalie were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Recovered at the crime scene were eight spent shells of .45 caliber pistol.

Meanwhile two men were shot and wounded in San Roque Cemetery and in Talon-Talon.

They were identified as Edsal Malik, 32, of Riverside, Isabela City and Rahman Kanain y Arami, 51, married, a PUJ driver of Sta. Catalina.

Malik went to the cemetery around 8 p.m. to meet his girlfriend-textmate and while he was walking inside, an unidentified gunman appeared and shot him several times.

Kanain was shot and wounded along the road in Talon-Talon around 9 p.m., while he was driving a passenger jeepney going to the city proper coming from Mampang.

Police said that when Kanain reached near Talon-Talon Elementary School, three men aboard a motorcycle chased and shot him. He sustained a bullet wound in the left part of the head. — Dan Toribio Jr.
