Armed raiders rob gold ore stores, panners in Bunguiao Print

Armed robbers raided a small gold mining village in Bunguiao and got away with more than P200,000 worth of gold ore and cash last Tuesday morning.

A police report disclosed that the gunmen appeared at the stores of Walderico Manalo, 55, and Romeo Aplaoy, 42, in Sitio Pungus, around 8 a.m. and robbed their gold ore at gunpoint.

Manalo lost P50,000 and Aplaoy P96,000 worth of gold. The latter was also divested of his money amounting to P60,000.

The raiders also took several valuables from the two stores including seven cell phones.

While fleeing along the Cahumban River the gunmen also robbed the gold ore and undetermined amount of money of small time gold panners. They escaped towards
Km. 18 in Upper Bunguiao, police said.

The Sangali police led by Chief Insp. Elmer Acuna conducted hot pursuit operation against the raiders. — Dan Toribio Jr.
