City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo yesterday disclosed that the security plan prepared by the city government and the police for the celebration of New Year’s Eve was very successful.

De Ocampo said the security plan set up days before the celebration turned out very effective. 

The police chief personally led the inspectionof all police units and personnel who were deployed in the different places.

De Ocampo said that no one from the local police for under him violated the “no firing of guns” during the revelry as all the taped gun muzzles were intact during the formation yesterday at the Central Police Station.

Meanwhile, De Ocampo said that a two-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet in Barangay Rio Hondo on New Year’s Eve.

The victim was identified as Husain Ismael y Jaulana of Campo Muslim, Rio Hondo. He was hit by a stray bullet around 11:30 p.m.

De Ocampo said that a total of 25 victims of firecrackers were recorded in the different hospitals during the New Year’s Eve revelry. — Dan Toribio Jr.
