House Deputy Speaker Beng Climaco yesterday inaugurated and turned over a drainage system project amounting to P1 million to barangay Cawit in pursuit of her commitment to help improve the plight of the constituents and to supplement the programs of the local government.

Cawit barangay chairman Rey Modillas personally accepted the 150 meter drainage system project on behalf of the barangay folks of Cawit during turn over rites held Thursday morning. Also present during the ceremony were Department of Public Works and Highways officials headed by District Engr. Merham Acas and other barangay officials and residents.

The funding for the project came from Cong. Climaco’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). The project was one of the priority projects identified by the barangay folks themselves.

This drainage system is located at Zone 5 of Barangay Cawit and is intended to direct water coming from the highlands to prevent flooding downstream.
“Projects like this serve as our guiding point to continue our consultations with the barangay as to the things they need. We want that our project has relevance and would benefit majority of the people of the barangay,” Cong. Climaco stressed.  — Marvin Segura
