Two more grenades exploded in Barangay Mampang at midnight last Thursday midnight.
Like in the explosion last Wednesday night, nobody was hurt in last Thursday’s twin explosion that happened at a vacant lot near the house of a barangay official along Alvarez Drive.
City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo disclosed that residents heard the two explosions but no one saw the grenade thrower.
De Ocampo said that investigators also recovered a spent shell of .45 caliber pistol near the explosion site.
Based on post blast investigation, the twin explosion was caused by MK2 fragmentation grenades, the same type of grenade that exploded in an abandoned house along Galvez Drive Wednesday night.
Bomb experts said the fragmentation grenades were still considered new based on the recovered safety levers.
De Ocampo said apparently the grenade thrower or throwers have no intention to kill or injure anybody as the explosions happened where there were no people around.
Tetuan police investigators under Chief Insp. Felix Martinez were still working on the three cases. — Dan Toribio Jr.
