Police confiscate nine ‘apple-apple’ machines PDF Print E-mail

As campaign continues against all forms of illegal gambling in the city, operatives of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company confiscated nine slot machines in Barangay Tulungatung and Ayala last Saturday morning.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo disclosed that the ZCPSC men led by Insp. Jade Gultiano Mandi under the supervision of Supt. Diomarie Albarico swooped down on different places in Tulungatung and Ayala around 10 a.m. after they receiving reports on the presence of slot machines locally
known as “apple-apple”which are actually betting machines reportedly being played by many barangay folks including minors.

Policemen made rounds of the two barangays and spotted the slot machines in the different places.

The machines were seized and brought to the the ZCPC office for proper disposition.

It was gathered that the machines belong to certain Gaido of Barangay La Paz.

Police were still investigating and preparing charges against the operator of gambling machines. — Dan Toribio Jr.
