Barely 4 days after he turned over a multi-million peso package of infrastructure projects in barangays Bungiao and Dulian (Upper Bunguiao), Mayor Celso Lobregat unveils yet another set of projects today, this time in the coastal village of Taluksangay in the east coast.

The projects that will be inaugurated and turned over to the Taluksangay barangay council headed by Councilor Abdurahman Nuño and other barangay and education officials, include the P4.367 million 2-storey 6 classroom building at hte Taluksangay Elementary School, the  P648T day care center and the P719T fence facility at the Taluksangay barangay hall.

Today’s inauguration in Taluksangay is 9 months after Taluksangay also received from the city government the P2.4 million barangay  hall and the P1.4 million Lying in Clinic last April 6.

Mayor Lobregat said the projects to be unveiled today form part of his administration’s strong resolve to accelerate the delivery of services in the barangays by infusing funds for various infrastructure projects.

Expected to join Mayor Lobregat and Councilor Nuño and other barangay officials in the twin turn over ceremonies today are some members of the City Council, officials from the Division of City Schools and other city officials.

On Saturday, January 7, the mayor and some members of the City Council drove to the remote barangays of Bungiao and Dulian in Upper Bungiao to also turn over various projects amounting to over P17 million.

Last January 4, the mayor also motored to the interiors of Mangusu and Sibulao, some 78 kilometers east of the city to also unveil P16.1 million worth of projects.

The mayor has vowed to continue with the massive infrastructure program focusing on the different barangays in the city in a bid to accelerate development and growth in the villages. — Sheila Covarrubias
