A 24-year-old man was stabbed dead by his cousin at Zone 6, Lumayang last Sunday night.

Killed was Jovy Quijano y Galvez, single. He was stabbed by Alexander Quijano y Del Rosario.

Initial investigation disclosed that Jovy confronted Alexander after the latter allegedly mispent an amount of money entrusted to him by the former’s mother.
It was learned that Jovy’s mother gave to Alexander P1,000 and asked him to give it to a barangay councilman of Lumayang.

However, Alexander gave only P500 to the barangay official.

Jovy was enraged by Alexander’s misdeed and confronted him on the matter.

Alexander pulled out a knife and stabbed Jovy.

Although wounded, Jovy managed to run towards the hilly portion of Lumayang and sought help  from residents. Alexander gave chaseand continued stabbing him until he died.

Alexander escaped after the incident while the body was brought to the Villa Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination. — Dan Toribio Jr.
