Not even the light rain dampened the jubilant mood of Sto. Nino officials and residents as Mayor Celso Lobregat officially turned over the newly-rehabilitated barangay hall costing approximately P1.3M Saturday afternoon.

In a message, the mayor reminded barangay officials headed by chairman Rogelio Miranda to take good care of the building and to maximize its use. He likewise urged them to “do things right with a sense of urgency”, adopting the DEPED slogan coined a few years ago.

Miranda profusely thanked Mayor Lobregat for his support to the barangay saying the facility will help enhance the delivery of services to the residents.
The barangay hall was the third city-funded project turned over last Saturday, following the inauguration of the P1.2M Talon-Talon Community Police Action Center and the P2.495M covered court in Talon-Talon National High School.

The Sto. Niño barangay hall unveiling was graced by Councilors Rudy Lim, Nonong Guingona, Eddie Saavedra and Noning Biel; member of the Sto. Nino barangay council, ZCSCMST president Mila Nazario, Chief Executive Assistant Mario Roca, among others.

Since January 4, Mayor Lobregat spearheaded a series of project inaugurations in the east coast, as he remains committed to bring development and progress in the far flung barangays of the city.

Among the barangays that received a package of projects were Mangusu, Sibulao, Bunguiao, Dulian in Upper Bungiao, Taluksangay and Bolong. — Claudine Uniana
