Mayor Celso Lobregat yesterday commended the elements of the Zamboanga City Police Office headed by acting city police director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo for the arrest of a woman fugitive from Mandaluyong City.

Lobregat identified the fugitive as Anemae Livrando y Cañabando, 31, single, a native of Butuan, and who had been convicted of qualified theft in Mandaluyong City for poisoning her employer. She allegedly escaped from the Women Correctional facility in Mandaluyong last November.

Police operatives arrested Livrando yesterday morning at the bus terminal in Guiwan, this city.

The Philippine National Police warned the public last month against Livrando, an escaped inmate, who posed as housemaid but poisoned her employers so she can ransack households.

The Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong had requested the cooperation of the authorities for the apprehension of the escaped prisoner after receiving tips that she was spotted in Davao City.

A police report said Livrando alias Ana and Poison Ivy, 33, native of Davao Oriental, and resident of Barangay Kipalili in San Isidro, Davao del Norte, escaped from her cell at CIW on Nov. 19, 2011.

Livrando was arrested by personnel of the Meisic Police Station 11 at Quezon City last August 22, 2008 and was detained in CIW on July 23 for charges of qualified theft with no bail recommended as ordered by the Regional Trial Court Branch 7 in Manila.

Police said the woman is a member of a robbery syndicate whose members pose as housemaids and later poison their employers so they can ransack households. — Vic Larato
