About P4.8M worth pipe laying project on the city proper is expected to finish this February 18, 2012 According to the Senior Public Relation Officer, Management Services Division Maria Dolores C. Galvan in an interview.

This project is intended to replace and rehabilitate the old pipes coming from Pasonanca running towards the junctions to Camins. But there are projects also in the intersection of Buenavista St., Mayor Climaco Ave., Gov. Alvarez St. towards the city proper.

“This is our commitment to the consumers, to replace the old pipelines,” Galvan said.

The concrete breaking has been an inconvenience to the public and motorists of the city. But for this reason, the office needs to fix and replace the pipes and is almost on its restoring phase to finish the projects and give the consumers clean water, she said.

Series of testing is first to be done before we could concretize the road such as, Hydrotesting, check the interconnections of the newly laid pipes to the existing pipes, testing the lines and opening of hydrants or flushing for clean and potable water before we complete the restoration of the projects, according to Galvan.

ZCWD would give water interruption notices before resuming the operations and affected areas would experience no water during the restoration of the interconnections of the service lines. Then we will test the lines, this to make sure that the water is safe and clean, Galvan added. — Albert Luna
