2 arrested for operating gambling slot machine PDF Print E-mail

Men of the Tetuan Police Station arrested two gambling slot machine operators at Ortega St., Tetuan last Monday afternoon.

Arrested were Prince Bayabos y Tiamwatt, 30, married, and Musin Tiamwatt y Maulana, 30, married, of Kasanyangan, Jolo, Sulu.

Tetuan policemen had  received a complaint from residents about the existence of slot machines in the area and being operated by Bayabos and Tiamwatt.
Acting on the complaint, policemen immediately proceeded to the place and arrested Bayabos and Tiamwatt.

Confiscated by the police was a slot machine locally known as “caballo-kaballo”. Seized from Bayabos’ possession was a small sachet containing suspected shabu.

Investigation disclosed that Bayabos and Tiamwatt were frequently seen at the said place bringing along units of gamlbing slot machines and identifying themselves as members of the Philippine National Police. They were also reportedly carrying guns.

The suspects were detained at the Tetuan Police Station while the suspected sachet of shabu was forwarded to the 0th PNP Crime Laboratory for examinations.

The following day, the suspects were taken to the City Prosecutor Office and cases of illegal possession of slot machine, violation of Republic Act 9165 and usurpation of authority were forwarded for evaluation. — Dan Toribio Jr.
