A young private contractor and owner of a resort in Lunzuran was shot dead by four gunmen along the Putik-Tumaga road last Friday afternoon.
Slain was Richard David y Monzon, 37, married, and owner of Betina’s Resort. He was a resident of Justina Village, Putik.

David sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot.

A police report disclosed that David was driving his Mercedes Benz car on the way home when he was gunned down.

David was about to turn left going to Justina Village, when four men riding on two motorcycles sidled up the car and the two backriders armed with a .45 caliber pistol and 9 mm pistol opened fire on him.

David who was armed with a .45 caliber pistol failed to use the gun to defend himself. The hail of bullets fired by the gunmen knocked him down and made him lose control of the steering wheel sending the car into a shallow ravine.

The gunmen sped away after the incident, residents told police investigators.
Recovered at the crime scene wereseveral spent shells of .45 caliber pistol and 9mm pistol.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo yesterday disclosed that the police were working on the case and trying to establish a lead.

Optimistic in solving the killing, De Ocampo said they will file appropriate charges against the killers and the mastermind as soon as strong evidences will be gathered. — Dan Toribio Jr.
