The Land Transportation Office 9’s  Operations  Division Office collected P4.3 million in revenue from January to December last year.

The collection is P300,000 lower than what was collected in 2010 which was  P 4.6 million.

The revenue collection is derived from the intensified enforcement of the Traffic Code abd other pertinent laws against road and traffic violators.

Operations Officer Olloy Jalaluddin disclosed that the decrease in collection of fines and penalties is attributed to the increased awareness of vehicle owners and drivers on not violating the traffic laws.

Jalaluddin said that most major violations of vehicle drivers were on side mirror requirement, defective accessories, not bringing vehicle registration, expired license and not wearing crash helmet. — Allen Abastillas
