A man named Joseph Estrada and four others were arrested in two separate buy-bust operations conducted by the police in San Roque and Sta. Catalina last Wednesday.

The four other suspects were identified as Norberto Alviar, Jr., 44, Andy Dumael, 18, Ryan Calaycay, 29 and Anina Pulalon, 24.

Estrada was nabbed at their residence at Villa Margarita, San Roque after he sold two sachets of shabu worth P200 to a police poseur buyer.

Estrada said it was his third time to sell shabu to help his wife who is working as housemaid in Manila to feed their children.

He said he was buying shabu in Recodo and repacked it to sell it to drug users in their place.

Police also recovered from his possession an improvised shotgun called “sumpak” and several drug paraphernalia.

The four other suspects were arrested at Betty 2 Drive, Sta. Catalina.

Confiscated from their possessions were three packs of shabu, five empty sachets, stainless pair of  scissors, two lighters, five rolled aluminum foil strips, P300 marked money and several drug paraphernalia.

All five suspects were detained at the central police station while the seized items were forwarded to 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination. — Dan Toribio Jr.
