HPG seizes stolen van PDF Print E-mail

Men of  the Highway Patrol Group Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Unit seized last week a suspected carnapped Suzuki APV van along the highway in Barangay Conacon, Polanco municipality.

The van was intercepted  during operations on anti-carnapping and “no Helmet no travel” policy .

HPG provincial unit head Chief Insp. Leopoldo Macalindol reported to HPG Regional Chief Sr. Supt. Romeo R. Uy  that the black Suzuki APV van with plate number 7LL 257. was spotted and flagged down for intial violation of unauthorized improvised/ temporary LTO License Plate Number and not wearing seatbelt which is a violation of R.A 8750. The driver presented a  motorvehicle registration from  Bacolod City.

When the Suzuki van was verified wth the Motor Vehicle Information Management System (MVIMS), it was found out that the chassis number G16A1D138914 and engine number  MHYDN71V49J300553 were included in the list of alarm/stolen motorvehicle under Alarm number 2009-0723-246 registered under the name of T.E. Oliverez of barangay Poblacion Alaminos  Laguna with LTO License plate number ZSD 535.

Sr. Supt. Uy directed Macalindol to impound the Suzuki van and conduct further investigation as well as coordinate with the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory of the province for a macro-itching examination and preparation for a possible criminal charges against the possessor. —  Allen Abastillas
