Seminar for owners of construction firms set February 25-26 PDF Print E-mail

A two-day Authorized Managing Officers (AMO) course to be participated in by proprietors and managers of construction firms all over the region will be held on February 25 and 26 2012 at the Grand Astoria Hotel on Mayor Jaldon St., this city.

The activity is jointly sponsored by the Los Contratistas de la Ciudad de Zamboanga, Inc., the National Contractors Association of the Philippines Inc. (NACAP) in coordination with the Philippines Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB).

Raymond C. Go, NACAP vice president for Mindanao and regional director, said the AMO seminar is a requisite in the approval and release of PCAB license registration starting this year for those engaged in the construction industry and being held in compliance with RA 4566 and joint Administrative order No. 1 series of 2011.

It covers laws and regulations related to The National Building Code, The Labor Code, The Government Procurement Reform Act, The Internal Revenue Code, The Build Operate Law and other local government codes.

Engr. Eduardo A. Catis, Los Contratistas president, said in his letter of invitation to those projected to attend.

Engr. Catis said the 16-hour attendance of the seminar shall strictly be enforced and registration will be on a “first come first serve” basis due to limited slots available.

A registration fee of P5,000/pax to cover the cost of materials, lunch, snacks and other expenses related to the activity will be charged and payments in check should be made payable to the Los Contratistas de la Ciudad de Zamboanga, Inc.,

Likewise such shall be deposited online to: BDO Zamboanga Branch, Account No. 001790218088 and those expected to attend are requested to either fax or e-mail their respective registration form together with the validated deposit slip for confirmation.

There will be no on-site registration and any participants who decides to cancel one’s reservation a week prior to the event will be charged a cancellation fee of Php 3,000 and participants are requested to submit one 2x2 and one 1x1 photos for the issuance of ID’S and for PCAB file, Catis added.

Resource speakers from Manila as well as from this city have been invited to lend their expertise to those in attendance, Go added.
