Dr. Maybelle Bautista Tee, Education Program Supervisor 1 for Social Studies at the Zamboanga City Schools Division Office was elected Vice President of the Philippine Association of Education Supervisors, Inc. for school year 2012.

At the same time, Husna Lim, EPS1 from the Division of City Schools was also elected member of the National PAES Board of Directors.

The election was held during the 11th Annual Convention of the Philippine Association of Education Supervisors (PAES), Inc. held at the Mimosa Hotel in Clark, Pampanga from February 1-3 themed “ES: The caring Educators with a Mission for Learners’ Excellence.”

Tee’s election as National PAES Vice President was a result of her election as president of the PAESI Mindanao Area where Lim was also elected association Secretary.

Dr. Tee said it is high time that all Education Supervisors in the region be cohesive in their action for the benefit of all learners especially  now with the ushering in of K-12 Basic Education model that will be implemented this school year 2012.

She stressed that working together, education supervisors will be able to realize the vision of producing graduates who will be prepared for life and who will be globally competitive.

The convention in Pampanga was attended by education supervisors from all over the country and intended among others to provide a venue for articulation between and among education supervisors on the K to 12 Program and other pressing issues; update them on the current DepEd programs and thrusts; equip them on the needed knowledge, skills and attitudes to be advocates, promoters, implementers, and monitors of the K to 12 Program; reawaken their passion in achieving learners’ excellence; and strengthen and sustain the strong bond of relationship among the PAES members. — Sheila Covarrubias
