Storeowner, wife stabbed by burglar PDF Print E-mail

A 56-year-old man and his wife were stabbed and wounded by a burglar in Barangay Talisayan at dawn yesterday.

The victims were identified as Wilfredo Dela Peña and his wife Maria Luisa, 47. They own a store in their place.

Wilfredo sustained multiple stab wounds in the body while his wife was stabbed once. They were taken to a private hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation disclosed that the couple was inside their house sleeping at past 1 a.m. when a burglar broke in and proceeded to their store.
Wilfredo and his wife woke up after sensing the presence of the burglar.

However while they were checking who was inside their house, the intruder attacked Wilfredo and Luisa.

The intruder, who was said to have been wearing a bonnet, escaped with some stolen items.

Ayala Police Station commander Chief Insp. Antonio Duruin said that an investigation was still ongoing to identify the intruder. — Dan  Toribio Jr.
