A jeepney driver was shot dead 30 meters away from his residence at Ayer Village, Sta. Barbara yesterday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Lincon Asdi y Hudan, 31, married. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body and died on the spot.

Initial investigation showed that Asdi left home early in the morning to check the jeepney he was driving.

Around 6:40 a.m., Asdi was on his way back to their house aboard a motorcycle when an gunman blocked his path and shouted invectives at in tausug dialect. This was followed with several gunshots.

The gunman hurriedly left the place after seeing Asdi collapsed beside his motorcycle with multiple bullet wounds in the body.

Men of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) retrieved some spent shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime site.

Police did not get information on the identity of the killer as no one from the place cooperated during investigation. — Dan Toribio Jr.
