The city government has set a Food festival, a showcase of finest Zamboangueño delicacies, from February 23-24, as one of the prime highlights of the Dia de Zamboanga celebration.

Five restaurants and catering service providers will participate in the 2-day food festival set at the Plaza del Pilar.

The Alavar Seafoods House, Chinitos D’ Gathering Place, Rekados Restaurant, Collete’s Buko Pie and Pasalubong and Kape Zambo are among the key players of the event that promises a mouth-watering experience.

With Zamboangueño-inspired menus, the appetite-tempting fair is expected to once again draw a number of food aficionados with a handsome offer of P150 for 4-5 combo meal.

Aside from the promised palatable dishes, guests and patrons will also be entertained with live and acoustic music that will run from 5PM onwards.

Just like in previous events, the food festival is a celebration of Zamboangueños’ love for food. It will also give visitors—domestic and foreigners alike the chance to witness how these cuisines are prepared and how they taste.

Numerous other activities—organized by the city government and private groups have been organized to commemorate the 75th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga on February 26, Sunday. — City Hall PIO
