Zamcelco marks 38th founding anniversary PDF Print E-mail

The Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Zamcelco) celebrated its 38th year of service to the people of Zamboanga City yesterday at the multi-purpose building in Putik.

The occasion was highlighted with the recognition of employees’ longevity of service, including the original personnel of the cooperative whose loyalty has remained since its founding in 1974. The actual anniversary date is February 23 but it was observed on Saturday.

A total of 39 regular employees of the Cooperative were recipients of plaques of recognition from the Board of Management after having reached 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service in the organization.

The occasion was preceded with a Thanksgiving Mass at 1 p.m.and afterwhich, the program proper.

Zamcelco President Efren T. Perez gave the Welcome Address with anniversary messages coming from Director/VP Elbert C. Atilano, Sr. (Dist. VIII); Dir/Secretary Agustin E. Graciano, Jr. (Dist III)I; and Engr. Santiago S. Navarro, the NEA Representative to the Board.

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) was represented with anniversary messages from Mr. Charito C. Mabitazan, and Engr. Federico P. Villar, Jr., the Financial and Technical Assists to the PS/AGM, respectively, while NEA Project Supervisor and Acting General Manager, Engr. Jesus Y. Castro, CEO gave the closing remarks.

A special highlight was included in this year’s founding celebration. A “Symbolic Switch-On Ceremony” of the 41 sitios under the Sitio Electricication Program (SEP) will ensue with Mayor Celso L. Lobregat; Congressman Erbie A. Fabian of District-2 and Congresswoman Ma. Isabelle G. Climaco-Salazar of District-1 gracing the affair and doing the honors of the switch-on.

Zamcelco officials together with the barangay chairmen of the different barangays whose sitios are beneficiaries of SEP, stood as witnesses of the ceremony.
