From over 3,000 hopeful candidates, only 199 new agents finally made it to the Philippine Drug enforcement Agency (PDEA).

PDEA chief Jose S. Gutierrez, Jr. Saturday led the conferment of 199 new agents during the 5th Commencement Exercises for the Drug Enforcement Basic Course (DEOBC).

Gutierrez congratulated the new agents and hopes that they (new agents) will exemplify the agency’s core values.

“I have high hopes that the 199 new PDEA agents will exemplify the agency’s core values of self-less service, honor, dedication, excellence and competence,” said Gutierrez.

The members of the KAISANG-ALAB or the “Kaakibat sa Iisang Adhikain Upang Labanan Ang Bawal na Droga” class is the fifth batch of drug enforcement
officers who successfully completed six months of training at the PDEA Academy in Silang, Cavite.

Meanwhile, the new agents have committed to fight illegal drugs above their personal interests.
