Police ensure peaceful, orderly ‘Dia’ celebration PDF Print E-mail

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin de Ocampo yesterday disclosed that the city celebrated iths 75th Charter Day last Sunday peacefully with no untoward incidents.

De Ocampo said he had deployed his men in various strategic areas for the parade and the commemorative program and personally supervised them
Policemen were briefed by their immediate officials before they were sent to their areas of responsibility especially those who were designated along roads where the parade passed by and those securing the venue of the program.

The entire City Police Office force and the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company backed up by soldiers of the Task Force Zamboanga and the Bomb Squad complete the security apparatus that ensured safety of the guests, visitors and the public.

De Ocampo said the peaceful and orderly outcome was a result of the thorough preparation made by the city government and the police.
He said the security measures in place will remain as the police  vowed to protect the public.

Meanwhile, police are still intensifying the campaign against wanted persons in the city.

Based on police records, dozens of wanted people have already arrested by the police.

De Ocampo said they will continue serving warrants of arrest to wanted persons. — Dan Toribio Jr.
