A school principal is the latest fatality of shooting incidents in this city.

Wilson Mision Recisio, principal of Lumayang Elementary School, was shot dead while his motorcycle was coming down from Lumayang going to Lumbangan yesterday afternoon.

The shooting, according to Lumayang Barangay Chairman Frederick Atilano, took place at Purok 5, Lumbangan near the garbage dumpsite  around 3:50 p.m.

Quoting investigators working on the case, City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo said that Recisio was aboard a blue Honda Wave when a gunman opened fire on him near the dumpsite.

De Ocampo said apparently the gunman waited for Recisio to come down from Lumayang Elementary School.

Recisio was dead on the spot. The killer used .45 caliber pistol.

De Ocampo that Recisio’s laptop computer, wallet and cellphone were missing after investigators made an ocular check and inventory in the area.  

The police chief said his men were on hot pursuit operation as of press time against the killer.

He said that investigators are looking into one angle that may have triggered the killing of the school principal.
