DOH-9 has new regional director PDF Print E-mail

Beginning Monday, the Department of Health Regional Office 9 (DOH-9) will be under the helm of a new regional chief after DOH central office carried out a reshuffle of its regional heads this week.

Dr. Teogines Baluna, a native of Dipolog City, will assume his post today as the new DOH 9 regional director vice Dr. Aristides Tan who will assume the same post in Cagayan De Oro City.

Dr. Tan served as DOH regional director here for six years during which he was known for his extensive and full support to the health programs of Zamboanga City.

In his courtesy call to District 2 Congressman Erbie A. Fabian in Metro Manila, Director Baluna assured continuity of the plans and programs initiated and left by his predecessor and will be very supportive to the health priorities of the city.

Rep. Fabian also briefed Dr. Baluna on the various supports given by his office with regards to infrastructure projects, medical assistance and upgrading of the Zamboanga City Medical Center which is under the management of DOH-9.

Baluna in return expressed his utmost gratitude to the congressman for his unparalleled support to the health department in this region.

Baluna will be formally introduced by his predecessor to the employees of DOH9 today, at the same time will take a brief tour of his jurisdiction under the guidance of outgoing director Dr. Aristides Tan.

Dr. Tan was also very thankful to the local officialdom of Zamboanga City as well as to the various agencies who supported his administration for the period of six long years.

Being a native of nearby Zamboanga del Norte, Baluna is no stranger to the region as well as to the health concerns of the constituents here.

He promised to carry on his well balanced medical management and assured a more progressive health department which will cater to the needs of the constituents here in Zamboanga City and other parts of the region. — Bhong Simbajon
