2 killed, 11 hurt in Jolo bomb attack PDF Print E-mail

Two persons were killed while 11 others were wounded when a powerful explosion rocked Jolo, Sulu last Saturday night.

A police report disclosed that the explosion took place around 6:55 p.m. near Cleopatra Commercial Store along Serrantes Street, Jolo.

Bomb experts said the explosive was planted under an electricity generator.

Killed were Sindao Mangilala, a vendor and Deonila Undug Asiril, a school teacher.

Injured were Hji. Sapiya Aminan, 40, Ferzia Aradji, 19, Jumadil Ajuljan, 40, Sali Asiri, 51, Virginia Kisae, 41, Arhamin Aplak, 25, Karmina Abdukahil, 18,
Alvarez Halipa, 49, Faujia Angkaya, 39, Abdul AzisTuttuh, 5, Rufaida Tuttuh, 9.

All those wounded were taken to the different hospitals for treatment.

According to the police, Cleopatra Commercial Store is owned by Nickson, Dickson and Herickson, all surname is Ong.

Police said the store had been receiving threats from suspected Abu Sayyaf terrorists.

In Zamboanga City, authorities have raised the alert level to avoid similar incident.

Police here have maintained the security measures they have prepared for the celebration of Charter Day last February and the alert status remains as the police and military are not discounting any possible attack from lawless group. — Dan Toribio Jr.
