The Land Transportation Office-9 Zamboanga City District Licensing Office is now undergoing internal audit process for its International Organization  for Standardization ( ISO )- 9001-2008 Quality Internal  Management System Audit.

LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton disclosed that the purpose of the Internal Audit is for the renewal of  the office’s ISO Certification.

The Internal  audit will determine and check if the  licensing process is consistent with the manual procedure of ISO standard.

According to Abaton , the Internal audit is a preliminary step  because there will be another 3rd Party External Audit  Team. It will be conducted by an audit team from outsider ISO External auditing  firm.

Abaton explained that the external audit firm will check the infrastructure of the office if it is still in the standard of the ISO. Also to undergo check are the areas for the applicants of LTO with amenities like comfort rooms, equipment and machines that are under the standard of ISO, senior citizen and pregnant express lanes, airconditioned and ventilated areas including those for handicapped persons.

Abaton said that most important is that the office delivers clients friendly and quality time management services.

He also said that the awarding of ISO certification will be on the centennial celebration of LTO on April 23 -27 at the LTO Central Office in Manila. Land Transportation Office is now 100 years serving the country.

Meanwhile, Abaton disclosed that all drivers will now be required to take the “Drivers’ Road Safety” pledge before they will receive their license. This is provided for under Memorandum Circular No. VPT-2012-1625 issued by the Department of Transportation and Communication on January 20,2012 and by Assec. Virgie Torres to all Regional Offices on February 15,2012.
