Newly installed Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles yesterday said that he is going to submit and recommend to the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame five more names of police officers with the rank of Senior Superintendent (Colonel) as choices to replace Sr. Supt. Edwin de Ocampo, whose term as City Police Director has been extended.

According to Estilles, there has been no positive result yet as to the first five police officers whose names were submitted to the PNP Senior Officer Placement Board to recommend to Mayor Celso Lobregat for the final selection.

“I am going to prepare another list of qualified candidates but as of now, I have not seen any reason to replace Col. De Ocampo. For me, he is still doing well as city police director,” Estilles said as he expressed satisfaction on De Ocampo’s performance.

De Ocampo’s term was supposed to end last January but Lobregat had asked for his extension waiting for the final list that will be submitted to him by the senior officer placement board in Camp Crame.

DZT learned that De Ocampo will be promoted to higher position at the PRO-9 — possibly as police provincial director in one of the provinces in the region.
