Guard shot dead; killers take pistol PDF Print E-mail

A security guard was shot dead by gunmen who fled with his 9 mm pistol at the Department of Social Welfare and Development compound in Talon-Talon last Friday night.

The fatality was identified as Silverio Pelegrino y Tubil, 48, married, of Zone 6, Boalan. He was detailed at the DSWD compound. He sustained bullet wounds in the body from .45 and 9mm caliber pistols.

Initial investigation disclosed that Pelegrino was on foot patrol in the compound around 8:30 p.m. when three men appeared and talked to him in Visayan dialect. They asked him about the arrival of deportees.

Moments later, two of the three men pulled out .45 and 9mm pistols and shot Pelegrino several times. The incident was witnessed by two students of the DSWD’s Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center III.

During ocular investigation, police found out that Pelegrino’s 9 mm pistol was missing and was  believed to have been taken by the killers.

Recovered at the crime scene werefour spent shells of .45 caliber pistol, a slug and spent shell of 9 mm pistol.
