City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo disclosed yesterday that they have already submitted to the city prosecutor office murder charges  against the gunman who shot and killed the son of a Rio Hondo kagawad and the cohort of the gunman behind the killing of the former barangay chairman of Sta. Barbara last Sunday.

De Ocampo said that right after the killing of former barangay chairmanHarun Dimarunsing, and the son of a councilman of Rio Hondo, he and his men immediaely went to work on the case and came up with the charges against the culprits.

The city police director has also conferred with all the police precinct chiefs and reminded them to implement the full force of the law and not to put the law into their hands as both fatalities have relatives in the Philippine National Police.

De Ocampo together with Mayor Celso Lobregat and Supt. Hado Edding mediated with the two involved families and asked them to refrain from resorting to vengeance. They were encouraged to bring the matter to the court.

Operatives from the Regional PNP Command were also deployed in the Sta. Barbara area and nearby barangays as augmentation force to avoid escalation of violence by both families.

De Ocampo said that a murder case against Hoper Abdul y Dimarunsing have already been forwarded to the city prosecutore office after he was tagged as the gunman who shot and killed Al Jamar Rashid at Duston Drive, Sta. Catalina at dawn Sunday.

Investigation was still ongoing to determine the identity of the cohort of Rashid Dakman who died in the hospital with a bullet wound in the leg after he shot Harun Dimarunsing to death outside the Sta. Barabara mosque at noon Sunday.

Police investigators have also prepared murder charge against Dakman but he died in the hospital after he was shot by responding policemen moments after he shot and killed Harun Dimarunsing.

De Ocampo said that aside from the filing of charges against both parties involved in the killings, the police are also digging deeper to the determine the masterminds of the two violent incidents. — Dan Toribio Jr.
