Beng’s livelihood training benefits 800 PDF Print E-mail

The Office of District I Congresswoman Beng Climaco recently initiated a simultaneous training in four different areas benefiting 800 people.

The trainings, done in four areas- Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology, Zamboanga State Polytechnic College, Campo Islam Elementary School and Sta. Maria Elementary School- were done in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in intended ultimately to help improve the lot of the constituents.

Courses offered during the trainings were cosmetology-Manicure and Pedicure, Jewelry-Making, Hairdressing and Make up, Perfume and Candle Making, Silkscreen Printing and Fish Processing.

“We have made women a priority in this livelihood caravan of our office especially because of our Women’s Month Celebration. Our community based trainings remain one of our priorities as venue for empowerment of our women and their families. We equip them with skills so they to can in turn help their families through an additional income,” Climaco said.

The two-day training graduated 800 individuals where they were given certificates and start-up kits.

The 1st District Representative continues her partnership with TESDA and other organizations to further vocational education in her district.
The lady solon for 2012 has allocated some P10 million for livelihood/ vocational education in her district. — Marvin Segura
