Four persons were seriously injured in a freak accident caused by a dangling cable of the Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative in Tampilisan, last Thursday morning.

Injured were Anghel Amante, Bienvenido Lumasay, 53, Jenelyn Sangela, 15, and Melvin Padela. They were rushed to  the Liloy Integrated Hospital for treatment.

A police report disclosed that around 9 a.m. Thursday, a Toyota Vios driven by Andujar Masiliones accidentally hit and dragged a dangling electric cable of thr ZANECO.  The cable  hit two motorcycles driven by Amante and Lumasay while they were coming in on opposite direction causing the vehicles to crash on the road.

One of the two motorcycles also hit two pedestrians — Sangela and Padela.

All victims sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies and were rushed to a hospital by residents in the area.

Masiliones was arrested by policemen and was brought to a police station for investigation.

Masiliones blamed ZANECO for negligence which according to him caused the accident. — Noning R. Antonio
