Beng pursues support to Red Cross initiatives PDF Print E-mail

House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao and District 1 Representative Beng Climaco has vowed to continuously support Red Cross initiatives stressing that social service form a significant part of her office operations.

This, as Cong. Climaco turned over some P400,000 to the local Red Cross as a form of assistance for the agency to fulfil its mission to help the community. The turn-over was done during the Red Cross 10th Biennial Anniversary at the Astoria Hotel March 22.

“I hope that the small amount we have put in will help our indigent members of the community avail of blood and augment their expenses for the screening. We see the importance of the Red Cross in our city and the services they have given to our constituents, with this we complement the efforts so that more people will benefit from those services especially those who are in most need,” Climaco explained.

Funding for the purpose was taken from the lady solon’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). The congresswoman hopes to further assist the organization.

The turn-over was witnessed by Mayor and Red Cross Governor Celso Lobregat, City Schools OIC Superintendent Pete Natividad, Red Cross Board Chairman Dr. Mila Fernandez and Red Cross Administrator Vic Liozo. Also present was Ms. Abigail Bucoy-Marquez representing Cong. Erbie A. Fabian.

The check turn-over was spearheaded by Silvie Agravante, Legislative Staff Officer II representing Cong Climaco together with Dr. Abdu Rahim Kenoh and Rowella Binobo, Education Consultant and in-charge of the Social Services, respectively, at the Office of Cong Climaco. — Marvin Segura
