The son of the barangay chairman of Ayala was shot dead by gunmen at Purok 5, Recodo where he reportedly had a shabu session last Sunday afternoon, while another young man was gunned down along Gov. Camins Avenue at dawn yesterday .

Killed were Harvey Librero y Orina, married, of Ayala, and Patrick Albert Carpio, single, of Cabato Lane, Gov. Camins Avenue.
Both Librero and Carpio sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body.

A report from the Ayala Police Station disclosed that Librero was earlier seen in the boarding house of Reynaldo Dela Cruz allegedly smoking shabu with some companions.

Around 5:15 p.m., LIbrero went out of the house and while he was standing outside, unidentified men appeared and opened fire on him.

The gunmen hurriedly left the place after shooting Librero. Their identities were not known yet as of press time.

Recovered at the crime scene were seven spent shells and one slug of .45 caliber pistol and drug paraphernalia.

The body was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination.

Several other persons were killed in Recodo, the shabu capital of Zamboanga City. The shabu pushers in the place are said to be untouchable as they have been existing in the area for a long time. They are said to be behind the several killings in the area with the victims unable to settle their debt for the shabu they bought.

Carpio was walking on his way home around 1 a.m. when a gunman with a companion appeared and shot him near a gasoline station.

The gunman and his cohort hurriedly left the place after shooting Carpio. He died on the spot.

Recovered at the crime scene were spent shells of .45 caliber pistol.

Carpio’s body was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination.
