A woman was arrested after she tried to steal a gold bracelet from a pawnshop and jewelry shop along Magay St. yesterday morning.

Nabbed was Palmalyn Gapul, 20, single, of Arena Blanco, this city. She was collared by alert people and some employees of the pawnshop where she snatched the jewelry piece.

A police report disclosed that Gapul went to Padjak Magay pawnshop and pretended as customer. She inquired about a gold necklace worth more than
P100,000. She held the necklace for several minutes and later returned it to the pawnshop attendant saying that her money was only P6,000.

Then Gapul asked for a bracelet worth P6,000. She wore it and suddenly ran away without paying for it.

Some employees of the pawnshop and helpful bystanders chased Gapul until they reached near Row C of the old market where she was cornered.
