3 militiamen killed, 7 hurt in Basilan ambush PDF Print E-mail

Three volunteers of the Special Civilian Armed Auxiliary (SCAA) and an Abu Sayyaf Group guerrilla were killed in an ambush in Barangay Tumahubong, Sumisip, Basilan last Friday morning.

Seven other SCAA militiamen were wounded and were taken to the Camp Navarro General Hospital in this city for treatment.

A military report disclosed that ASG guerrillas under Puruji Indama ambushed the militiamen killing three of them — Nulmer Lumbos, Buddo Hatula and Papang Manjapal.

Wounded were Bonifacio Masyon, a certain Lot, Lukman, Ahmad Ibrahim, Al Basir and a certain Munar.

A certain Bakrim, a member of the ASG,  was killed in an exchange of gunfire.

Police and military troopers were deployed in Sumisip as augmentation force as hot pursuit operations against Indama’s group continues. — Dan Toribio Jr.
