A coconut farm owner was hacked to death at Sitio Malasugat, Sangali last week.

The fatality was identified as Emmanuel Alba y Siason, married, of Sitio Daap, Sangali. He  was hacked by Maksurin Maruppo y Pakka of Malasugat, Sangali.

A police report disclosed that Alba was riding on a motorcycle, on his way to harvest coconuts when Maruppo blocked his path and hacked him in the head and at the back at Sitio Malasugat.

Alba was rushed to the hospital where he expired while undergoing treatment.

Maruppo escaped after the incident bringing the bolo he used in the killing.

Men of the Sangali police station have launched a hot pursuit operation against Maruppo.

In another incident, a 24-year-old man was hacked and seriously wounded by his elder brother at Sitio Pamingitan, Bolong, the other day.

Wounded was Rodel Francisco y Molina, 24, married. He was hacked by Ronel Francisco y Molina, 22, married.

Rodel sustained a hack wound in the head and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

A police report disclosed that the two brothers were having a drinking spree around 3 p.m. during which they figured in a heated argument. Ronel grabbed a bolo and hacked his brother in the head.

Rodel was rushed to the hospital while his brother was arrested by responding policemen — Dan Toribio Jr.
