Police Regional Office 9  Director Chief Supt. Napoleon R. Estilles has commended all policemen in the region for a job well done in ensuring a peaceful observance of the Holy Week.

Police reports showed there was no serious or major incident that has harmed or hurt devotees during the weeklong religious observance as they went to the different churches and religious sites in the region.

All policemen nationwide were on full alert together with the Armed  Forces of the Philippines.  Policemen and soldiers were deployed in the different ports, bus terminals, airports, churches and religious sites to ensure the safety and security of  travelers and devotees.

Policmen  also put up checkpoints, roving patrol and  police assistance centers during the Holy Week.

According to Estilles,  there were some isolated incidents but not related to the religious activities.

“Everything was manageable,” he said.

Estilles thanked the different local government units and the people in the region for extending assistance to the police.
