3 Zambo pirates nabbed in Siocon PDF Print E-mail

Three pirates from Zamboanga City were arrested in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte where they victimized a fisherman and his son recently.

A police report identified the suspects as Junior Asalco, 56, Asnai Saytilik, 37, both residents of Rio Hondo and Hassan Jairan, 35, of Arena Blanco, this city.

Police said the suspects were arrested while they were scouting for victims aboard their pumpboat named “Marimar”.

The suspects were nabbed in a hot pursuit operation around 8 a.m. They were positively identified by their recent victim identified as Julhaide Lacsamana.

Police said that Lacsamana and his father Julie were fishing last week when the suspects appeared and took their pumpboat engine.

The victim told the police that the three pirates shot them before they left the place killing his father.

Julhaide said he jumped into the water and was later rescued by other fishermen. The incident was reported to the police and a hot pursuit operation was launched.

At the Siocon Police Station, Julhaide fingered the three as the persons who robbed their engine and killed his father.
