A policeman was killed a while security guard and a restaurant employee were wounded in a gun attack along Gov. Camins Avenue last Friday night.

Killed was PO1 Florante Tuazon y Jurado of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company. Wounded were Rafael Rosales, a security guard and Deindrib Piyapimuk, both employed at Chowking fastfood restaurant.

Tuazon sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body and was declared dead on arrival at a private hospital.

Rosales and Piyapimuk were also brought to a hospital, but were later declaref as in stable condition.

A police report disclosed that Tuazon, who was wearing a PNP camouflage green uniform,  was sitting near the door of Chowking when two men arrived and engaged in a conversation with him.

The conversation turned into a heated argument. Witnesses said that during the exchange of words, one of the men pulled out a .45 caliber pistol and shot Tuazon several times at close range. Rosales and Piyapimuk were hit by stray bullets.

It was gathered that the gunmen fired in the air before leaving the place aboard a motorcycle.

Recovered at the crime scene were several spent shells of .45 caliber pistol.

The City Police Office’s Investigation Section under Sr. Insp. Joel Tuttuh have already gathered a lead as to the identities of the gunmen as investigation continues. — Dan Toribio Jr.
