The Police Regional Office-9 has received an information that kidnapped Australian national  Warren Richard Rodwell, 56, is weak and sick in the hands of his captors in Basilan.

It was learned that Rodwell is being moved by the kidnappers from one place to another in Lantawan and Sumisip.

Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Napoleon R. Estilles  said he still is validating all the information gathered by intelligence operatives on the whereabouts and the health status of  Rodwell.

Estilles expressed optimism that Rodwell will be released by his captors  because of his failing health.

Rodwell was kidnapped last December  5, 2011 at his residence in Green Meadow Subdivision in Barangay Upper Pangi, Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay. He is married to an Ipil resident.

On the other hand, authorities are clueless on the identities of the abductors of Mayor Jeffrey Lim of Salug, Zamboanga del Norte. Lim abducted last April 2,2012 after coming from a  game of badminton.

“Our intelligence operatives and police troopers in coordination with the military are working 24 hours on the ground to locate and rescue Mayor Lim,” Estilles said.

Estilles commended PNP operatives  for the release of kidnap victim Meljoan Auditor who was released by his captors yesterday. — Allen Abastillas
