‘Green Caravan’ kicks off today in Zamboanga City PDF Print E-mail

“Green Caravan”, a three-day environmental awareness event organized by a Mindanao-based environmental advocacy group, will kick off today in Zamboanga City and will end in Davao City on April 19.

EarthSoul Solutions Inc. is organizing the event in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in support to the observance of the Philippine Earth Day on April 22.

The caravan will be participated by local government units, government agencies, non-government organizations, business and private sectors.

The starting point will be at Paseo del Mar in Zamboanga City at 8 a.m.. The participants, who will be on vehicles and will travel on convoy, will have their first stopover in Pagadian City, where a short program will be held in the evening. It will proceed the following day, April 18, when the participants will have their second stopover in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.

In Bukidnon, participants will have an orientation of the place, where environmental concerns will be highlighted.

The caravan will proceed until it reaches Davao City on April 19.

During the caravan, participants will be given educational materials on environmental protection and preservation.

At Paseo this morning, a program will be held before the caravan will take off. Earth Soul Chair Ibno Turabin will give a welcome address and Mayor Celso Lobregat will give his “Wish of Luck” message
