Governor’s man hurt in gun mishap PDF Print E-mail

A liason officer of Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan was seriously wounded after the gun of his cousin accidentally went off hitting him on the back inside his residence at Country Club Subdivision, Upper Calarian, last Thursday morning.

Police identified the victim as Zepheadi Naguib, 38, married. He is now undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Investigation showed that Naguib and his cousin identified as Bensaud Patarasa was about to leave the house when the accident took place.

Police said that Patarasa was arranging his pistol belt around his waist when he accidentally squeezed the trigger of the .45 caliber pistol.

The gun went off hitting Naguib who was few meters away from Patarasa. Occupants in the house rushed him to the hospital and reported the incident to the police.

Meanwhile, Naguib’s brother-in-law identified as Nabet Ahmad told police that the incident was purely accident. — Noning R. Antonio
