Thousands of grade schoolers  in Sta. Catalina to partake in Fabian feeding program

Some 3,000 grade school students of the Don Gregorio Evangelista Memorial School or Don GEMS in Sta. Catalina will enjoy a pre- Christmas blowout as the Cong. Erbie Fabian’s  ‘Think Health’ feeding program gets underway anew today.

2nd District Rep. Erico Basilio A. Fabian will be Santa Claus to the students as they will be serve meals this morning.

Rep. Fabian’s feeding program aims to boost the nutrition program of public elementary school graders in the city.

A strong advocate of good health, Rep. Fabian sees a need to introduce dietary supplements such as the introduction and the familiarization of well balanced meals to children.

The current economic conditions have prevented youngsters especially from public schools from enjoying full and nutritional meals.

He noted that malnutrition is most prevalent in public elementary schools as kids are often undersized, frail and sickly.

Introducing children to low priced yet nutritionally fortified meals will help inculcate good eating habits which would hopefully lead to better health for grade schoolers here.

Staffers of Cong Fabian’s office will motor early to the school site to help oversee and supervise the feeding program in coordination with school officials.

As per records, there are 3,420 students from kinder to grade six in the Sta. Catalina Public elementary school.

A short program will precede the feeding program where school officials and barangay officials from Sta. Catalina is expected to attend.
