LP-KKK Coalition City Chair John David Atilano Corpin yesterday appealed to city officials to exert more efforts in finding solutions to minimize the long pestering blackouts and if possible put an end to it.

The long worsening blackouts have already affected all sectors to include business, hospitals, households and many others, said JDC whose advocacy is Justice, Development and Change for Peaceful, Progressive and Greater Zamboanga City.

“In many cases sick people are threatened especially during operations in the hospital, infants and the elderly are also very much affected,” JDC pointed out.

The LP-KKK Coalition Chair also said blackouts increase the rate of criminality because bad men operate mostly in the dark.

He said reports reaching his office disclosed that officials in many cities and provinces in Mindanao have dipped their hands in trying to solve the problem in their place that resulted to shorter blackouts.

“If they can do it in their respective places why can’t we do it here?” JDC asked.

He appealed to consumers to be united and to also help Zamcelco resolve the problem of blackouts. — NS
