LTO employee arrested for allegedly beating wife PDF Print E-mail

A Zamboangueño employee of the Land Transportation Office was arrested after he allegedly manhandled his wife inside a hotel in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay last week.

Arrested was Alexis Esperat Mauleon, 35, of Guiwan, this city.

Initial report reaching the Police Regional Office-9 headquarters disclosed that a concerned citizen reported to Chief Insp Ariel Huesca, chief of the Ipil police station,  that a naked woman was seen along the highway with injuries in the body.

Acting on the report Huesca and his men rushed to the place and rescued the woman who was only wearing underwear while walking along Barangay Sanito around 6:50 p.m.

Police said that the woman, also from Zamboanga City and whose identity has been withheld, sustained multiple injuries in the body. She claimed that it was her husband Alexis who inflicted the injuries on her body.

The victim told the police that the incident happened inside the Sibugay Grand Plaza Hotel.

Policemen mounted a hot pursuit operation at the hotel and arrested Alexis at Room 205.

Police recovered several drug paraphernalia and a wire that was alleged used by Alexis in inflicting injuries on his wife’s body.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment while Alexis was detained at the Ipil municipal police station pending the filing of charges in court. – Dan Toribio Jr.
