3 cops charged over robbery of firearms at Camp Batalla PDF Print E-mail

A police officer and two non-commission officers were charged for malversation of government property in connection with the robbery of firearms at the Regional Supply Accountable Office headquarters inside the Camp Batalla in RT Lim Boulevard last January.

Charged were Robin Almazan, RSAO chief,  SPO4 Rodolfo Salazar and SPO1 Melvin Moriente.

The case was forwarded to the City Prosecutor Office docketed under  IX-06-INV-120-00211.

Last January 19,  around 2 p.m., Almazan discovered the padlock of the RSAO office damaged.

During ocular inspection, police investigators found that one 90 RR, M14 rifle, two M16 rifles and several.45 caliber pistols and .38 cal. revolvers were missing.

Few days later, some of the missing guns were found in another room adjacent to RSAO.

Thorough investigation was conducted and after more than two months, the police forwarded the case to the prosecutor office against the three policemen. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
