Two more suspected members of the notorious drug syndicate in Recodo were arrested in yet another shootout last Saturday afternoon.

Arrested were Lorenzo Jones y Vasquez, 31, married of Logoy Grande, Talon-Talon and Abdulkasi Maldam y Adlawan, of Pasonanca.

A police report disclosed that men of the 9th RPSB were conducting foot patrol along Purok 3, as part of the continues operation against the drug syndicate,
when they spotted Jones armed with KG9 Luger home made machine pistol with silencer.

Jones reportedly opened fire on the lawmen triggering an exchange of gunfire.

Jones was hit in the right foot and was cornered and arrested.

Recovered from Jones’ possession were the machine pistol with two magazines loaded with 58 rounds of ammunition.

Maldam was also spotted by operatives armed with M4 type airsoft gun and was acting suspiciously.

Jones was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later placed under interrogation with Maldam. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
