Because of its latest achievement of strong and serious campaign against drug pushers, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-9) under Regional Director Adzhar Albani has been commended by the PDEA Central Office and the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) chaired by Mayor Celso Lobregat.

Its successful operation that resulted in the arrest of one of the alleged notorious drug leaders in Zamboanga City two weeks ago has also been recognized by the City Council which passed a resolution during its April 18, 2012 regular session, commending Albani and his men in PDEA-9.

Both national and local leaders have considered PDEA-9’s  performance as sterling that only men with dedication and courage can do for the love of work with the aim of minimizing, if not total eradication, of illegal drugs in the region.

On a personal note, no less than Mayor Lobregat expressed appreciation on the bravery and courage that Albani and his men displayed in carrying the operation “which are truly worth emulating.”

During a deliberation at the City Council, the local aldermen likewise expressed appreciation on the achievements of PDEA-9 agents who are described as vigilant over the campaign against illegal drugs and keeping their watchful eyes on those suspected to be involved in many crimes which resulted in the arrest of  Nadzul Alih alias “Katindig”, an alleged notorious drug leader and the subsequent arrest of six other persons allegedly involved in the series of shooting incidents in the city.

The resolution was principally sponsored by Councilor Abdurahman Nuño after the presiding officer, Vice Mayor Cesar Ituralde, presented the matter to the august body.

“The arrest of the suspects brings justice to all those who were victims of the syndicate, and a way appease the fear of the constituents of the city, the council” the council resolution read.

To recall, while the members of PDEA-9 were on their way to take “Katindig” to the Hall of Justice for hearing of a case, a white Izusu Trooper carrying armed men surfaced and tried to block their path with the aim to rescue Katindig). This prompted Albani’s group to alight from their vehicle and cornered the armed men aborting any rescue attempt. — Jimmy Villaflores
